Text especially, but all elements (photo boxes, shapes, etc.) could really benefit from drop shadow in addition to outline to help text stand out from busy backgrounds.

I have made over 100 photo books first in iPhoto, then Motif and now printed by Mimeo, still using Motif app. Except for a brief period of time in 2017, there was an option for a softcover in the 11 x 8.5 size. I would love for that option to return. The hardback has two drawbacks for a prolific creator; more expensive (especially when ordering multiples for travel companions) and takes up too much space when stored on a shelf or coffee table. Please make soft cover an option again for 11 x 8.5 size photo book.

When editing an existing page layout using the transform function to make a photo wider or taller it is difficult to set the space between each photo. Currently the photo will snap to the next photo leaving no gap. The solution is to zoom in to the maximum level and then slowly drag the photo transform button until the space looks good. A great solution would be to snap the photo edge to the standard gap before snapping it to the next photo edge.

When editing photos and using a Photos plugin, such as Pixelmator, there is about a 70% chance that the app will freeze when returning, requiring a user to force quit Photos. When this happens, the “reloading/refreshing” rectangular dialog that appears is blank (no text). There is also no CPU activity (according to Activity Monitor) and it just appears as though the dialog is stuck, which prevents any clicking within the app. I can reproduce it repeatedly and it happens on a completely fresh install of Mac OS (fully patched).

make a slide show using the photos in my book with the photos in the same order as the book and with the edits made as they appear in the book. alternatively be able to export those photos back to ‘Photos’ so I can make the slide show adding music of my choice in ‘Photos'
